Last Friday BARC asked us to take some Length of Stay dogs that were set to be euthanized. These dogs (featured below) survived up to 55 days at BARC only to be scheduled for euthanasia. Taking a chance on raising enough money, we pulled them in the nick of time, but we need foster homes in Houston and Colorado for just 7 days and/or donations for their care. If you are interested in being a TEMPORARY foster, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’d like to make a donation, no amount is too small! You can make a tax-deductible donation by credit card by going to www.rescuedpetsmovement.org and clicking the donate tab. If you’d prefer to donate by check, please make it out to “RPM Inc.” and mail it to us at
3139 W. Holcombe Blvd. #135
Houston, Texas 77025
Every cent of your donation will go toward transporting these well-deserving dogs or to the costs incurred for temporarily fostering a pet until he or she can be transported. Any excess funds we receive will automatically be applied to our next transport.
And if you can’t donate, don’t worry–just spread the word for us. That helps a lot.
Here are the dogs!
Beverly Beverly said, “Please, please save me!” Doesn’t she melt your heart? This girl is a hoot! She is about 2 years old and is 41 lbs. She is a chunky monkey and looks like a cinderblock with legs. She ran up and hugged us as soon as we got her out of BARC. She then does this silly crawl all over the place and just put on a show. She is so so sweet, very friendly and absolutely precious! She’ll definitely win Miss Congenality. She was listed as a boxer mix and she is built like a bulldog, so she’s probably that or maybe some pittie. All we know is that she’s a sweetheart.
Clark is precious! He’s about 1 year old and weighs just 23 lbs. He could use a sandwich or two. He’s a quiet, easy soul who just wants to be loved. He’s very gentle and easy, walks well on a leash, and stays right with you. He loves a bag of treats. He’s good with other dogs and should be a very easy. He’s quiet and sweet and we’re sure he was passed over by potential adopters every time because of it. He’s listed as a plot hound mix.
Draya is another skin and bones baby. She is about 3 years old and weights 36 lbs, but should probably weigh more like 50 lbs. She has the sweetest, most soulful eyes and will lean against you. She’s good with other dogs and didn’t even mind being bossed around by a big male chow mix. She even put up with our funny costumes. She walks well on a leash and is a very sweet dog. She’s listed as boxer mix, but looks more hound/lab.
Harris’ ears were chopped off! Sadly, this is all too familiar site that we see–dogs with their ears crudely hacked off by idiots trying to make them look like pitbulls. We can’t imagine the horrors this boy has suffered but he doesn’t hold a grudge and still loves people and life. Harris is a silly boy. His records list him as 1.5 yrs old, but he acts like a puppy. He only weighs 30 lbs and is another skinny pup that really needs to gain weight. He is a ham and even obliged us putting a funny turkey hat on him. The shelter lists him as a Blue Lacy mix–he has longer legs and a longer snout. He has the most haunting grey eyes. He’s great with other dogs, VERY affectionate and will jump up on your lap for love. He’s very smart too.
Stouffer was on the table and about to die when we called in the nick of time to get him a reprieve. He’s 2 yrs old and a tiny 31 lbs. Every bone is his malnourished little body shows. He has stunning green eyes. He is very easygoing and walked well on a leash with us. He’s very treat motivated and quickly learned to sit. They originally had him listed as a “pitbull mix” but the vet said she thinks he’s more of a pointer/vizla mix. His head looks big because he is starving and his body is so tiny. Once he gains A LOT of weight, he’ll look fabulous. He’s good with other dogs and is very sweet and affectionate.
Tank is a stunning boxer mix who was on death row simply because he wasn’t adopted fast enough. He’s done nothing wrong except wait patiently at the shelter for his forever family to take him home but they didn’t come. We couldn’t let Tank die, so we need your help to send him to his forever home! Tank is very sweet and easygoing. He’s affectionate and loves to hang out with you. He’s well behaved and walks well on a leash. He has the most gorgeous blue-green eyes you’ve ever seen. Tank is 40 pounds and is about 1 year old. He’s a boxer/staffordshire terrier mix of sorts with the cutest curlicue tail. Tank is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and heartworm negative. He is good with other dogs too. Tank is a sweet soul who needs your help.
Thank you so much for your help. Together we can make Houston a no-kill city. We can’t do this without you!
