Rescued Pets Movement is thankful for our dedicated employees, our fabulous fosters, our caring volunteers, our magnificent donors, our inspiring supporters, our understanding family members, our friends at BARC and The City of Houston, our amazing rescue partners, our friends in Houston’s rescue community, and everyone who cares about Houston’s homeless pets. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Here are the dogs and cats who traveled safely to Colorado last week to be adopted into their new forever homes.
Almost all of our volunteers and staff got away before we could take a group shot. But as always, we couldn’t do what we do without the help of our fosters, transporters, volunteers, drivers, donors, BARC, and our Colorado partners. We’re thankful for each and every one of you–and so are more than 4200 dogs and cats!
Black Friday is days away, so don’t forget that every purchase you make from the Earth’s biggest online store can support Rescued Pets Movement. Through its AmazonSmile program, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchase to RPM. This 0.5% adds up, costs you nothing, and is a great additional way to support RPM. The one-time setup takes only a couple of seconds, and you get the same prices, products, and service you’re used to when shopping at Amazon. It doesn’t cost you any extra; the only difference is now you’re helping RPM every time you buy! Here’s how.
STEP 1: Go to smile.amazon.com.
You’ll use this link to register and for all your future Amazon shopping. You can even add an AmazonSmile button on your toolbar! Even after you’ve signed up for AmazonSmile and RPM, shopping through the regular amazon.com won’t benefit RPM. You need to use the smile.amazon.com link from now on.
Most items sold by Amazon qualify, but confirm this on the product page. It’ll say “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation.” And this is a good time to triple check that you see AmazonSmile and “Supporting: Rescued Pets Movement” at the top.
Step 6: Check out!
This part you should be used to. Purchase the item(s), and smile. You’ve just donated to RPM!
This past weekend, we celebrated our first birthday by throwing a party for you. It’s because of you that more than 4000 dogs and cats like these, who traveled last week, are safe now.
Thank you–good job!
Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday, November 8th, to support our Christmas in November Adoption and Supply drive, and to Oak Forest Animal Advocates for partnering with us for the event. The entire day was a great success! Thank you to everyone who donated, came by to meet our awesome dogs, and for having their pictures taken with Santa and his giant elf. Also, a big thank you to our cook team, Santa, and the giant elf! You all made the day a memorable one. View photos from the event on Facebook here: Christmas in November photos
Rescued Pets Movement’s Indiegogo Kennel Initiative has gone live! As we enter the holiday season–also known as the season to give–we ask that you make one more charitable contribution with us via our Indiegogo Kennel Initiative. We have a goal of $40k to raise by December 23, 2014 to raise funding for the kennels in RPM’s Foster care clinic, and we know with your help and support we can do this. Please visit https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/rescued-pets-movement-kennel-initiative to donate to RPM’s Indiegogo Kennel Initiative. Thank you!
