Holly, Ellie’s mom, wrote to us and said, “Ellie, who is nine years old and in the 4th Grade, had to coordinate a community service project in accordance with her Gifted & Talented curriculum. She knew she wanted to focus on animals. We knew about RPM through our friend and RPM board member, Katie Beirne, and I urged her to be a bit more hands-on/grassroots vs. a shift at a bake sale type event.”
Ellie said, “I learned that there are animals killed everyday in Houston because they don’t have homes for them here. These dogs and cats can go to other states, like Colorado, that have families that want them. A lot of work goes into finding them a home.”
And we say that Ellie is a smart and compassionate person who is a friend to dogs and cats everywhere. We’re lucky to have her as a part of our community. Keep up the good work, and thank you for sending us the photo!
