Let’s put the GIVING in Thanksgiving: 47 BARC pets saved.

image

Friends,

Rescued Pets Movement vowed last Thursday at its media launch that one of its goals is that no puppy will die at BARC. We also said we were going to take a break to enjoy Thanksgiving with our families. Those two plans conflicted, however, when we received emails from BARC about puppies about to be put down. So, we thought, “Meh, who needs rest anyway,” and in just 2 days, we have pulled 46 puppies (and a few older dogs) and one kitten from BARC. Pictures of some of those saved are below. (For all of our cat friends, we ARE working on helping more cats and kittens. The demand for cats and kittens is not as great as for dogs and puppies. But we are not giving up!)

If you are able to temporarily foster and open your home and heart to any of these pets, PLEASE let us know. Contact us at foster@rescuedpetsmovement.org. PLEASE.

If you cannot foster and are willing to donate, PLEASE do. No amount is too small. You can make a tax-deductible donation by credit card by going to our website at www.rescuedpetsmovement.org and clicking the donate tab. Or if you prefer to donate by check, please make it out to “RPM Inc.” and mail it to us at

RPM Inc.

Houston, Texas 77025

If you cannot foster or donate, please don’t stress about it. Just PLEASE forward this email to all of your contacts and ask them to forward the email to all of their contacts.

Every cent of your donation will go toward transporting these well-deserving pets, toward temporarily fostering a pet until he or she can be transported, or toward reasonable and necessary vetting expenses. Any excess funds we receive will automatically be applied to our next transport or BARC pull.

Thank you so much for your help and your voice. Together we can make Houston a no-kill city.

Help us, if you can.

Friends,

As soon as we pull them out and transport them, people surrender more dogs or drop off unwanted puppies. Currently BARC is already at capacity since last Friday with almost 200 dogs and 100 cats. BARC needs RPM to get all of the little ones listed in the photos below out of the shelter before they’re put to sleep. We’re happy to do it, but can you help us by fostering one or two or more until we can transport them to Colorado on the 21st? RPM covers all vet expenses, can assist with food, has fabulous puppy packs, and can provide a crate. We just need to get them out of BARC tomorrow. You will save a life and make a big difference. Please, help us out by sharing this plea with your friends!

Thank you!

UPDATE: All of the dogs and cats mentioned in the above post and an additional 17 more now have foster homes for a total of 38 dogs and cats saved. THANK YOU for your help. We’ll be needing homes for more dogs and cats VERY soon, so please contact us at fosters@rescuedpetsmovement.org if you’re interested in opening your home for a short time for a dog or cat in need. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. Did I say thank you? Thank you!

Shadow and 8 lab mix puppies need fosters and sponsors

Friends,

RPM is saving Shadow today! We also are working to save 8 tiny lab mix puppies who were scheduled to be put to sleep today and will get out in the nick of time. We couldn’t let Shadow or these little puppies die and we’ll be sending them up to Colorado. But we need your help and can’t do it without you! Here is what we need to save them:

1. Can anyone foster (1) Shadow and (2) one of the little puppies starting right away? You can take one puppy or two or three–you tell us and we make it work. Please email RPM at fosters@rescuedpetsmovement.org if you can help. Boarding costs are so expensive and it’s much easier on the dogs to be in a home. It will probably be a 2 week commitment;

2. Would you please consider sponsoring Shadow or one of the precious little puppies’ transport and vet costs? We can’t do it without you! No amount is too small and every dollar goes directly to helping the animals! Transport costs run us $50 to $75 per dog. Plus we’re looking at boarding for 2 weeks for Shadow and all of the puppies unless fosters are found, a year of heartguard for Shadow and vet care for the puppies. There are two ways for you to sponsor a dog or dogs. You can make a tax-deductible donation by credit card by going to our website at www.rescuedpetsmovement.org and clicking the donate tab. While you’re there, please consider making a monthly donation. Or if you prefer to donate by check, please make it out to “RPM Inc.” and mail it to us at

Every cent of your donation will go towards transporting this well-deserving little family/or towards temporarily fostering a pet until he or she can be transported. Any excess funds we receive (we can dream, right?!)will automatically be applied to our next transport.

Thank you for your help. Together we can make Houston a no-kill city.

Beau needs a one week foster home, please!

Update: Beau not only found a foster home, he was adopted into his forever home! Thank you, everyone, for your response and interest.

Beau is in need of a temporary foster home from today until November 12th. If you can foster Beau, please contact Dana at danajob@msn.com Beau is also available for adoption in Houston. You can read more about Beau on our Adopt Me! page here: http://live-rpm-transition.pantheonsite.io/adoptions/ Thank you!

We still need foster homes. (I know. We say that a lot!)

We’re looking for temporary fosters for these six pups. These little ones were scheduled to be put to sleep, but we yanked them out in the nick of time. They’re at our vet now, but we’ll need temporary foster homes for them until our next available transport. Cabot was in a plea from two days ago, but we still need a foster home for him. If you can help, we’d really appreciate it!

Being a temporary foster is awesome: your costs are covered or you can receive a tax deduction for any of your expenses; you provide love and a home to a homeless pet, thereby filling up your karma bucket; it’s for a definitive and short amount of time. Can you foster one of these pets for just 10–14 days? If you’d like to become a temporary foster or would like more information about temporary fostering, please contact us at foster@rescuedpetsmovement.org.

If you can’t foster, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to go toward their care and transport. You can donate by credit card by clicking the donate tab on the right. Or if you prefer to donate by check, please make it out to “RPM Inc.” and mail it to us at

Urgent need for temporary fosters for 10-14 days

We’re looking for temporary fosters for these six pups for approximately 10 to 14 days. These little ones were scheduled to be put to sleep today, but we received an extension until tomorrow. If enough fosters can be found to take one or two each, we can save them until our next available transport.
