Honoring Steve Ouellette: A Beloved Friend and Animal Advocate

Prudence marks her 5th birthday with a generous gift for Rescued Pets Movement

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and longtime supporter, Steve Ouellette. Steve’s passion for helping animals was boundless, and through his unwavering generosity, countless lives were saved. Diagnosed with glioblastoma last year, Steve faced his illness with the same grit and humor that defined his remarkable life.

Steve, along with his loving husband, John, have been incredible supporters of Rescued Pets Movement over the years. Steve never hesitated to lend a hand or open his heart and home to animals in need. His dedication to saving lives will forever remain an essential part of RPM’s mission. Through his contributions, we were able to rescue and rehome countless pets, all thanks to his kind and giving spirit.

Steve’s life was as full as it was inspiring. Known for his love of Houston Heights and his vibrant spirit, Steve was not only a successful realtor but also a man of deep kindness, joy, and generosity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his beloved dogs and cats: Buddy Holly, Annie Louise, Juan Pablo, Louis, Julius, Broadway, and Max.

Steve’s impact on our mission and the animals we serve will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on in every pet we continue to save, and his memory will remain close to our hearts.

Why I Foster…

We started fostering after our personal pets all passed as we hope to travel extensively. Fostering fills the void when we are home and our goal is to fill them with love before their journey. It’s always hard to let go but the posts from other fosters make you know that you are not alone. Plus, there’s always another to help. RPM has made such a difference for Houston area animals. I always feel supported and heard.”
