In Loving Memory of Erin Cordova

Prudence marks her 5th birthday with a generous gift for Rescued Pets Movement

We are heartbroken to share that Erin Cordova, a longtime and deeply valued member of the Rescued Pets Movement team, passed away on February 3rd after a brief battle with terminal cancer.

Erin was a part of RPM’s records department where she oversaw medical records, organizational statistics, grant and transport compliance, and so much more. For many years, she was a quiet and steady force behind some of the most critical and complex parts of our operations. Her work often happened behind the scenes, but it was essential to keeping our programs running responsibly, accurately, and in full compliance.

Erin truly loved her work, her coworkers, and being part of the RPM family. She was an exceptional teammate, and those who worked closest with her often say they could not have done their jobs as successfully without her support, partnership, and care.

While today is heartbreaking for everyone who knew her, her family has shared that they find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering, and in the belief that they will see her again.

Erin’s presence helped shape the culture of RPM in ways that cannot be measured in reports or metrics. She made the work easier for others, steadier during stressful moments, and better simply by being part of the team.

We are deeply saddened by this loss. Our hearts are with Erin’s family, loved ones, and especially her sister, Kayla, who is also a valued member of the RPM team, as well as all of the staff who had the privilege of working alongside her.

You may notice that the memorial graphic shared here is not in RPM’s usual color palette. Purple was Erin’s favorite color, and we chose to honor her by using the color she loved.

Thank you, Erin, for your dedication, your kindness, and the countless ways you helped Rescued Pets Movement carry out its mission. You will always be part of the RPM family, and part of our story.

Why I Foster…

We started fostering after our personal pets all passed as we hope to travel extensively. Fostering fills the void when we are home and our goal is to fill them with love before their journey. It’s always hard to let go but the posts from other fosters make you know that you are not alone. Plus, there’s always another to help. RPM has made such a difference for Houston area animals. I always feel supported and heard.”
