Kara Willis shines a spotlight on RPM’s ‘2024 Chefs for Paws’ event

Kara Willis emcees the 2024 Chef's for Paws event for Rescued Pets Movement

Every year, Rescued Pets Movement  hosts its annual fundraising event ‘Chefs for Paws’ to help continue our lifesaving efforts for the animals. CW39’s Kara Willis emceed the event this year at the C. Baldwin Hotel.

Since RPM’s founding back in 2013, this event has helped over 84,000 animal lives to be saved. If you missed the event, you can still donate and find ways to volunteer here.

Rescued Pets Movement helps get stray animals out of Houston’s shelters and into forever loving homes through transporting to other areas of the United States where there is demand for them. Every year, tens of thousands of animals end up in Houston shelters. Many of those shelters operate at capacity and RPM works hard to reduce the number of animals euthanized every year at BARC (City of Houston shelter) and other shelters across the city.

Why I Foster…

We started fostering after our personal pets all passed as we hope to travel extensively. Fostering fills the void when we are home and our goal is to fill them with love before their journey. It’s always hard to let go but the posts from other fosters make you know that you are not alone. Plus, there’s always another to help. RPM has made such a difference for Houston area animals. I always feel supported and heard.”
